The Nurse Aide is the primary direct care giver in long-term care, home health, hospitals, and private duty services. The demand is great for this healthcare worker due to the aging population. This course is approved by the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) and qualifies you to take the SC Nurse Aide Competency Exam, which is required to work in a variety of healthcare facilities and organizations. This exam is also nationally-recognized and will permit you to work in most states throughout the USA.
This certificate program is designed to educate health care professionals in understanding principles and practice of intravenous therapy with an emphasis on venipuncture techniques, equipment, equipment, precautions, complication of intravenous therapy, and nursing responsibilities. Due to South Carolina practice laws only certain professionals (MA, LPN or RN) may administer IV Therapy. Must show current certification.
Basic Life Support: Teaches the skills for victims of all ages, including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag mask device and oxygen, use of an AED (automated external defibrillator), relief of a foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). For certified licensed healthcare providers. Assess situation(s) and determine if: 1) first aid, 2) medical emergency, 3) injury emergency or, 4) environmental emergency. For certified or non-certified, licensed or non-licensed healthcare providers. 2 year credential from American Heart Association.
