May 22, 2020: A Message to Employees from President DeHay

 

Dear Colleagues,

 

I am emailing to provide a brief update on our plans to re-open.

 

As communicated earlier this month, our College remains closed to the public through the first week of June. Accordingly, only essential employees should report to campus between now and June 5, and all other employees should continue working remotely. After June 5, the College will begin a phased approach to reopening campuses.

 

Numerous teams have been assembled to develop a return-to-work and academic delivery plan. Details of the plan will be shared with employees during a virtual town hall meeting on Thursday, June 4, 1:00 p.m., via Zoom. Please register in advance for this meeting by clicking here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

 

I know there are a lot of questions around how we will re-open, and I believe the plan we put forth on June 4 will provide many answers. However, just as COVID-19 continues to evolve, so does the guidance we receive from state and federal agencies like the CDC. As a result, we must continue to be reactive and fluid in our planning process.

 

I appreciate the great work you have put forth during these trying times, and I look forward to welcoming you and our students back to our campuses in the near future. In the interim, please take care of yourself and your loved ones.
