MONDAY, MARCH 2
Tri-County Technical College is closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and making plans should this become a pandemic situation. As of March 2, 2020, according to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environment Control and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, they have confirmed 68 cases in the U.S.
At this point, it is essential that all employees and students are knowledgeable about how to prevent the transmission of respiratory viruses as well as how to watch for signs of infection. Here is a link to the guidance document from the DHEC Bureau of Disease Control (https://www.scdhec.gov/…/COVID19-childcare-school-guide-021…).
The college is reviewing its Pandemic Flu/Epidemic Disease Outbreak Response. This will be shared if and when the time becomes appropriate. Let's all commit to doing our part by remaining educated on this situation as well as being vigilant in stopping the transmission of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus and other respiratory viruses.
