The Need

  • Insufficient insulation of water lines subject to freezing and bursting
  • Overall inadequate lighting with no natural light
  • Poor ventilation
  • Shortage of storage space throughout facility

  • Concrete floors are cracking and flaking which harbors pathogens
  • Chain link fence and framing is heavily corroded in multiple locations
  • Current chain link style kennels are inadequate for ideal separation of large dogs and control of airborne disease
  • Lack of individual outside kennel access for the dogs
  • Inadequate food preparation space
  • Limited ventilation in all cat and dog rooms which greatly complicates illness management
  • Currently space allows for only four quarantined animals in a converted closet with limited ventilation
