Physical Therapy Aide

Class Description:
This program is designed to prepare students for employment as a Physical Therapy Aide.  Students will learn medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, body mechanics, vital signs, reporting, charting, coding, patient interaction skills, and the use of equipment and techniques to aid patients in rehabilitation.

Course Outline

  • Prepares you for a physical therapy program or physical therapy assistant program
  • Set up, take down and use each piece of equipment
  • Access patient information
  • Assist patients in and out of therapy areas
  • Perform the necessary clerical tasks and record-keeping

Entry Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED
  • State ID
  • CCE application
  • Hepatitis B Vaccine declination signed

No licensure or certification is necessary to become a physical therapy aide.
