The Duke Energy Tech Co-op

The Oconee Nuclear Station recruits students from Tri-County Technical College to work a minimum of 20 hours per week while maintaining a full-time student status. This program will help students gain knowledge of the processes and procedures in nuclear plant operations.

Depending on the area assigned, the students will be assisting in performing diagnostic, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic instrumentaion systems and controls; trouble shooting, investigating and repairing mechanical equipment.

Ideal candidates for this program major in Industrial Electronics Technology, General Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics Technology. Duke Energy will also recruit students majoring in Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Technology and Welding Technology.

To be eligible for this program, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have completed 12 credit hours but no more than 52 credit hours in their degree. Participation is limited to 4 semesters.
