Tri-County Technical College in partnership with Mountain Lakes Business Development Corporation LLC, Piedmont SCORE , Clemson's Small Business Development Center, and the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce offer a workshop to address the first steps involved in starting your small business. Topics include: managing your cash flow, setting up business and marketing plans, insurance issues, legal and licensing insights, and more. Pre-registration is required. This workshop is designed for the small business owner, manager, or the self-employed. Explore business use of home, independent contractors vs. employees, employment taxes, tax forms, and electronic filing methods. Information on record keeping, types of business entities, Schedules C & SE, and employment taxes will be covered. The employment tax segment provides an overview of Forms 941 & 940, including e-file, EFTPS due dates, and both Federal and State Tax Employment issues will be covered. Pre-registration is required. Business Immersion for Entrepreneurs: Start, Run, Grow
Designed for entrepreneurs who are either starting a new business or growing an existing one, this course will take students through the process of conceiving, creating, managing, and growing their own business. The course covers the key elements to starting and running a successful business. The goal is to provide a solid background with practical application of important concepts for anybody starting or running a business, regardless of educational background. Finance, accounting, marketing and management issues will be addressed from an entrepreneurial perspective. The course relies on classroom discussion, participation, guest speakers, basic case analysis, and the creation of a business plan based on each student's specific area of interest.
