Driver's safety depends on the diagnosis and repairs made by auto mechanics. With more computerized automotive systems in today's increasingly complex cars, mechanics must have an understanding of both mechanical and electrical principles. Many automotive technicians now specialize in a particular area, such as air-conditioning, transmission, or brakes.
According to MoneyTalks News, the average pay for auto service technicians and mechanics is about $40,000 per year.

SCHEDULING AND ENTRY OPTIONS
Day and evening classes are available. Although major courses begin in the Fall Semester, students may enter any term. Full-time students usually complete requirements in five terms. Part-time students, day or evening, should allow nine to eleven consecutive terms to earn the degree. General Education course requirements can be completed at any time during the program. Courses can be completed in any order subject to the completion of course prerequisites.
