The procedures below should be followed to earn TAP credit toward Business & Public Services certficate and degree programs.  Please make note of the Department Contact List for a particular program.  

START THE TAP PROCESS BY:

  1. Printing out a Competency Verification/Teacher Recommendation (CVTR) form and have it signed by your high school/career center business teacher.  Click here for a copy of the CVTR form.
  2. Submitting your CVTR form to Ms. Melinda Zeigler, Division Secretary, Business and Public Services, at 646-1420.
  3. Passing a TAP exam in each area listed with a grade of "C" or higher.
  4. Follow the 8 Steps to Enrollment to become a TCTC student and register for courses.

NOTE:  In addition to the TAP procedures above, you must be able to submit a portfolio that includes a one-page, double-spaced paper describing your philosophy of early childhood development (including appropriate roles and responsibilities of care givers), samples of your work showing your competence in health, safety and nutrition, and verification of completion of American Red Cross First Aid and CPR.
