2014-2015 Bridge to Clemson Orientation Ambassador Selection

Thank you for your interest in being an Orientation Ambassador for the Bridge to Clemson Program!

Bridge Orientation Ambassadors are enthusiastic individuals who have successfully crossed the bridge to Clemson and want to help future Bridge students get acclimated with the program during summer orientation. Ambassadors will interact with future Bridge students and their families by sharing their experiences at Tri-County Technical College, Clemson University, and the residential environment and will facilitate various aspects of the orientation session. It is a fun and exciting role where you have the opportunity to make a positive impact on future Bridge students and their overall experience.

Qualifications
Ambassadors must be current Clemson students that have successfully crossed the bridge or current Bridge students that are on track to complete the Bridge requirements by the end of the May 2014 term. Applicant must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher and be in good conduct standing. Academic and conduct records will be reviewed to ensure these requirements are successfully met.

Availability

All ambassadors must be available from 7:30am-7:00pm during Bridge Orientation days to be considered:

Tuesday, June 17
Thursday, June 19
Monday, June 23
Tuesday, June 24
Thursday, June 26
Tuesday, July 15

Ambassadors must also be available for a training session on Sunday, April 6, 2014. 

Compensation
Ambassadors will receive a staff shirt and $100 per orientation session. Clemson On-Campus Housing can be provided if needed.  

Application Process
Applicants should complete the online application  and submit a faculty or staff recommendation no later than 2:00pm on Friday, February 14, 2014. Incomplete applications will not be considered. The faculty or staff recommendation form can be dropped off at the Bridge to Clemson Office in Miller 181 or emailed to kdye1@tctc.edu. Please note that by submitting the online application, you are granting permission for the Bridge program staff to verify your current academic standing, including your current GPA and student conduct records with TCTC and Clemson University.

Once candidates have successfully submitted their online application and recommendation form, they will be contacted to participate in a group process interview occurring the week of February 17-21, 2014. Candidates will be contacted at the email provided in the application for further information. Returning Orientation Ambassador candidates will not be required to complete the group process interview but will be required to participate in an individual interview.

Candidates will then be emailed if they have been selected for an individual interview based on their qualifications, the contents of their application and participation in the group process interview. Individual interviews will occur the weeks of March 3-7 and 10-13, 2014. Candidates that are not chosen for an interview at this time will also be contacted via email.

In order to be considered for this position, you must have completed and submitted the online application and ensure that your recommendation form has been submitted by 2:00 pm on Friday, February 14, 2014. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
