Bridge Resident Assistant (RA) Application

Thank you for your interest in being a Resident Assistant (RA) for the Bridge to Clemson Program!

Bridge to Clemson RAs are live-in, part-time, student staff members at the Bridge residential community in Highpointe of Clemson who are chosen through a selection process to both create a healthy living and learning environment and implement policies, procedures, and programming. Bridge RAs are enthusiastic individuals that want to help Bridge students get acclimated with the Bridge to Clemson Program and transition into Tri-County Technical College and Clemson University, as well as the Highpointe community.


Bridge RAs must be current Clemson students. While the position is open to all Clemson upperclassmen, some priority is given to Clemson students who have successfully crossed the Bridge or current Bridge students that are on track to complete the Bridge requirements by the end of the Spring 2014 semester. Academic records will be reviewed to ensure these requirements are successfully met. All RAs must be enrolled in degree granting programs and in good academic and conduct standing with the university (Tri-County Technical College and/or Clemson University) with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. RA cumulative and semester grade point averages will be reviewed prior to hiring and on a semester by semester basis to ensure that this requirement is met. 


All Bridge RA candidates must be available all training and opening dates and times in order to be considered. Spring training will take place on April 13, 2013 from 1-5pm. Bridge RAs must be available for fall training and opening, with all staff moving in by Sunday, August 1, and training beginning Monday, August 3.   


Housing and utilities at Highpointe will be provided as a condition of employment. Bridge RAs will be paid a weekly stipend for 10 hours a week at $7.25 an hour. All Bridge RAs are responsible for their Highpointe security deposit. If RAs are terminated or resign from their position for any reason, their housing at Highpointe will be terminated immediately.

Application Process

Applicants are encouraged to review the Bridge RA Position Description. Applicants must complete the application and the Records Release Form, as well as submit two completed recommendation forms, unofficial transcripts with up-to-date cumulative/semester GPAs, and a current resume by no later than 5pm on Friday, January 17, 2014.

By submitting the application materials, you are granting permission for Bridge staff to verify your current academic and conduct standing. In order to be considered for this position, you must have completed and submitted the Application, Records Release Form, Resume, Unofficial Transcript, and 2 Recommendation Forms by 5pm on Friday, January 17, 2014. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Interview Process

Candidates will be chosen for an interview based on their qualifications and the contents of their application materials. ALL candidates will be notified if they will be granted an interview or not via an e-mail to the Tri-County Technical College or Clemson University e-mail provided in the application. If selected for an interview, interviews will take place the week of January 29-February 5.

2014-2015 Bridge Resident Assistant (RA) Selection Timeline

  • January 17 - Bridge RA application materials {Application, Records Release Form, Resume, Unofficial Transcript, and two (2) Recommendation Forms due by 5pm
  • January 23 - ALL candidates will be notified of their candidacy for interviews via email
  • January 29 - February 5 - selected candidates interviewed
  • February 12 - offer letters sent out via email; ALL candidates notified of their candidacy
  • February 14 - Bridge RA acceptance letters due to Bridge to Clemson Office
  • April 13 - Spring Training 1-5pm @ Bridge Student Success Center
