Tri-County Technical College is undertaking its first major construction project on the Pendleton Campus in more than twenty years. The Student Success Center is a key component of the Tri-County Technical College's strategy to increase student success, reduce long-term maintenance costs, and address decades of enrollment growth.  For information about the facility, including floor plans, see the links below:

Project Scope: The project scope includes a new building, the complete refurbishment of Ruby Hicks Hall, and the installation of a central chiller plant and chilled water loop. The new building will be the first build on the Pendleton Campus in twenty years. At that time, enrollment was just over 3,000 students, compared with close to 5,000 students on the Pendleton Campus today.

Cost: $42 Million

New Construction: A 75,000 square-foot building will include a Learning Commons that houses library collections, flexible meeting spaces for students, computer labs, study areas, computer laboratories, supplemental instruction, and tutoring spaces; Student Development Office; Information Technology Services; College Store; Café, Printing Services, meeting spaces, shipping and receiving. Construction of this facility required the removal of the amphitheater and Clarke and McKissick Halls.

Ruby Hicks Hall Renovation: A complete renovation and refurbishment of Ruby Hicks Hall to house TC Central, a one-stop enrollment center that will include Admissions, Student Records, Cashier, Financial Aid, Student Data Center, Assessment, Advising, and Student Success Coaches; Curriculum and Academic Support Services; Administration; and conference/training spaces.

Central chiller plant and chilled water loop: The installation of a central chiller and chilled water loop will cool the new building, Hicks Hall, and Fulp Hall. Eventually, all buildings will be connected to the chilled water loop.

Timeline: Construction of the new building is expected to take 18 months. The entire project, including the renovation of Hicks Hall, will take two and one-half years.

Architectural Firm: LS3P Associates, LTD, Greenville, SC

Construction Firm: Juneau Construction Company, LLC, Atlanta, GA

Gifts: Reliable Automatic Sprinkler Company is the first industry partner to designate a gift for the new Student Success Center. The new Campus Store will be named for the company in honor of its $100,000 contribution to the Tri-County Technical College Foundation.
